Updating your LinkedIn signals that you are current and relevant. It does not signal you are searching for a new job.

WHAT SHOULD I UPDATE?

At a minimum:

  • Update your skills. You can list 50. These should be skills you want to be hired for. Not just things you can do. 

  • Keep your About section current and interesting.

  • Update your employment dates and positions.

The goal is to fill out each relevant section. LinkedIn rewards complete profiles. The list above is a good start.
